Chesterton Smart are pleased to confirm successful completion of Leicester Electricity Sports Cricket Pavilion first floor changing rooms following their a feasibility study they were commissioned to carry out for the club. The Practice were initially appointed by the club’s secretary Mr Keith Webster to undertake a feasibility study as part of a tripartite effort to secure grant funding for the scheme from Sport England. Sponsors of the scheme also included the Samworth Trust who were the major funders of the scheme. Following the success in securing grant funding, the internal works were started on Monday 7th March 2016. The tender for the works was won by Tanwood Construction Ltd who were awarded the contract delivering the scheme under a JCT 2011 Design and Build contract. The project was completed in a tight 8 week programme in time for the start of the clubs 2016 cricket fixtures.
Queniborough Aluminium Systems also undertook works to the South elevation of the pavilion replacing the first floor windows. This has given a massive facelift to the front elevation.
The refurbished facilities will be officially opened by Wasim Khan the CEO of Leicestershire County Cricket Club on Wednesday the 8th June 7.00pm.
