At Chesterton Smart we believe in great Project Management. Dedicated to providing a quality professional services to private and public sector clients requiring project construction services. Projects need to be managed efficiently to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and to the quality expected. We will act as lead consultant coordinating your project on time, in budget and to the quality expected. We help clients achieve this by:

  • Appointing specialist sub consultants as required to form the ‘design team’
  • Manage the team and procurement process in a logical and controlled way
  • Develop the project in to manageable sections using best practice principles
  • Keep the project on track on-time and within budget
  • Managing the project variables (cost control, performance, change etc) through the process to closure

Effective Project Management requires good leadership and the ability to bring a range of professionals to collaborate in pursuit of a single objective. Acting as your lead consultant we are able to draw on the complete range of skills in order to deliver any scheme quickly and effectively.

Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015

We advise clients of their responsibilities as “duty holders” for health and safety on notifiable construction projects. A CDM Coordinator is always required on projects lasting a minimum of 30 days or 500 person days. We assist you to meet your legal duties by:

  • Being appointed early on in the scheme

  • Notifying details of the project to HSE

  • Preparing the Pre-Construction Information pack (PCI)

  • Advising on aspects of the construction design

  • Collaborating with the client, designers and principal contractor

  • Identifying, collating and passing on pre-construction information

  • Giving additional advice during the construction phase; and

  • Preparing the health and safety file

Our surveyors have undertaken advanced training in the Management of Health & Safety in Construction and hold the designation IMAPS the industry standard awarded by the Association for Project Safety.

Project Monitoring

Project monitoring ensures progress is reported back to the stakeholders on a regular basis. By acting on your behalf we take responsibility for inspecting and overseeing the project reporting back to an agreed framework covering such matters as:

  • Project status

  • Financial expenditure

  • Anticipated final account

  • Variations and why

  • Cash flows

  • Existing and anticipated problems

  • Statutory approval

  • Team performance

Building Maintenance

Buildings require planned periodic maintenance advising clients on planned, reactive and cyclical building maintenance strategies. Our services include:

  • Survey report on outstanding repairs

  • Advice on repairs and programming

  • Obtaining tenders and appointing contractors

  • Contract administration

  • Site inspections and certificates for stage payments
